Default Anyone GoPro their active shutters yet?

I was following my wife in her Fiat on a 45 minute drive, so when looking in her rearview mirror, she sees right into the grill. I asked her to keep an eye on the shutters (she didn't even know the truck had them ha!). Doing about 60 the whole way, and she said the shutters were completely closed the entire trip except at one point she noticed they were completely open for a few minutes. It was a nice cool day so I didn't have my AC running.

On the way back she said they were partially or fully open most of the trip and only saw them closed a couple times, and not for long. I understand the AC needs that ventilation through the grill, but I didn't think it would be that much of a difference!

So I thought about a GoPro, or some kind of camera installed so you can see how it opens and closes. Anyone ever think of doing it? Or has anyone done it? I also think it would be cool if you could have something on a display that showed their status, like a percentage of how open they are. There must be a value somewhere in the computer that might be readable...

How so? I guess if you live in warm climate and rarely take the highway then I can see how it's useless. But closing the shutters makes the truck more aerodynamic. And in the winter, they close while the truck is warming up to help it warm up faster, and when it's REALLY cold, they just stay shut. That's why you see the older(OLDER) pickups driving around with the grill covered up with either a special cover, or even a piece of cardboard

You want to film the shutters opening and closing? Why?

Why do you consider them stupid? They seem to serve a valid purpose.

I'm curious how often they reposition; if it's a constant slight adjusting or if there's only 3 or 4 positions that only adjust once a minute etc. If they're closed and I turn on my AC do they open right away?

It's just out of curiosity because you can't see what it's doing when you're driving.

I've never noticed this, but in my humble opinion it's a great idea
