Does anyone know why those black plastic pieces are there? I was checking my seams today and wanted to look under those pieces for potential cracks or seam issues - just checking for potential leak issues. I don't think there is anyway to get those pieces up. Mine look the same as pics posted.

Looks like the wind would get under the plastic pieces while driving. Just curious.

Those pieces are riveted down, they aren't coming up unless you drill them out (wouldn't recommend doing that!)

Also you'll know if there are cracks under that cap if you check the rear seatbelts. Pull them out all the way and if they're wet then you probably have a crack under there.

I was looking a one of the steel body trucks maybe 2012 and they have the same wavy crappy looking seals as the 2015s.

Yeah it's just seam sealer that has been painted. Could have easily made this look more finished with a piece of trim.

Kinda odd that those black pieces are riveted down, but maybe previous years are the same. I mean, if you ever had to replace them, I guess you'd drill them out. I can see a time when one gets ripped or begins to crack.

Ford lacks the wherewithal to create a decent looking roof seam. Therefore, you are NOT to look above eye height on these trucks. It is forbidden. Normal characteristic. Move along...nothing to see here.
