The orange LED Light strip is only included in the 502a package. I have a lariat with 501a and it does not have the LED headlamp bulbs nor the LED light strip. I do have the LED tail lamps though.
Hoping for an aftermarket solution as well.

Wow! Really!
I thought the back and front headlight has the orange LED strip. And just the top models 502 and + have the LED on top of the LED strip.
Could have sworn, i saw pics of LED strip on XLT and lower Lariat. hmmmm.. i guess i'm wrong.

That stinks. I ordered an XLT thinking the LED's and strip were standard on all models. I didn't really need the leather seats so I didn't go Lariat. I'm beginning to rethink my order. I don't know if I can justify the $$$ just to get the upgraded headlamps.

Disappointing Ford is continuing to force us to get the high end trucks just for led.

I am not trying to step on anyone's toes or seem rude.
I think it is a marketing thing. The lower end trucks come with more stuff then you used to be able to get on a fully equipped model. Ford is searching for reasons to give the high end buyers a reason to choose the more expensive trucks and drive you to at least the next level. Packages have been around for a long time now and are a more expensive way to add what you want rather then just one part of the package individually. A fully loaded Lariat is close to the price of a well equipped Platinum. The Platinums have very few options to choose from and most are equipped with most of them. The Platinum only features are very minor.
As for the LED lights I think that is a bit of a safety factor as the better you can see the better you can drive. It should at least be an option if not standard. I at first thought that all 2015s were going to have them and did not realize they were only on the higher end trucks and packages.

That's a HUGE step up in price. I got the navigation/moonroof/heated leather package in addition to 501a, and I only spent like 2k (There is a $750 discount for those 3 together). There was no way I could justify the extra $5000 for headlights and the side cameras (we already get the backup).
What really torques me off is the fact you can't add those options separately. I would understand if they were integrated components that would need to be separated (like only wanting a step bar on one side for half price).

You can't get the 360 cameras or LED headlights without adding the 502a package. The 501a package is $1500MSRP and the 502a package is $6995MSRP.

For me it worked out to an additional $1600 to upgrade to the 502a and get the LEDs. I already was getting the chrome package so it wasn't a huge jump. I figured that if and when they come out with a way to switch them out it's going to be crazy expensive so it's worth it to do it now.
