"I really wanted the 2.7L but the loaded up lariat doesn't have that." Crash

Oh me, Crash, I didn't know that! You mean you can only get a kind of base Lariat with 2.7? I'm currently interested in a '14 Lariat 3.5 Ecoboost that is loaded with about every option there is. It's just about my dream truck, but I did want to check a '15 Lariat 2.7 before I make a decision...

They did at first. Power was greatly reduced. Through out the 80s we saw a ton of engineering problems and power reduction in almost all vehicles in the US. Where we are seeing it is at the fuel pumps and on our wallets when we purchase these vehicles. If we naturally allowed car manufacturers to build and develop without all of the EPA regulations, cars would be much, much less expensive, and would be a lot more powerful than they are today.

Lastly, the EPA has killed several types of vehicles here too. The small truck is one example. Where do you think the S10 and Ford Ranger trucks went? The EPA killed them completely. Companies had to come out with slightly larger versions in order to meet the requirements within a new bracket.

Don't quote me... I may have it wrong. But I built my truck at the dealer. One of the things I wanted automatically excluded the 2.7L.

Now that I think about it... it might have been the Lariat Sport package? I don't know why... F'n stupid if you ask me.

I'll play with their builder and see if I can figure out what option it was that I added that axed the 2.7L.

I was wrong, it was the Lariat 502A package where the 2.7L is not an option.

Lets see.... Direct injection, turbos, average mpg, its a 5400lb truck so its not fast. I don't see any logic or advantage.

Let's be real here everyone. Everyone bought the 15 model because of the technology put into it not really for the power train. Don't know why this always comes up, topic was bashed around for 4 years already.

Nope, I bought a 15 because I got a family of four, and I like Ford's crew cab for that job. And I love, love, love that 5.0 :p

Why can't someone by the 2015 for both reasons? I know that the new 5.0 has been built with stronger rods as well as some other parts. Rods were probably one of the weakest points of the 5.0

So when you walk into a dealership you are like "man I need that vehicle, because of the stronger rods"? I bought my car for 360 degree camera, seat massagers, aluminum body, LED headlights, twin panel moon roof, remote tailgate opener, etc. What was your last vehicle? Maybe my thinking is different as I came from a 12 SCrew Eco Sorry to sound like a smart *** but I don't get it sometimes. I would say all Ford motors right now are somewhat revolutionary
