whats the parts list because i could probably find a wrecked lightning or something, if not then i could just so happen to see one gets wrecked

i dont know for sure but if i was doing it i would get the upper and lower intake manifold and all that. also all the pulleys off the front of the motor. the fuel rail and injectors along with the MAF i belive they are 90MM vs a stock 4.6 or a 5.4 is a 75MM. after like june or july of 2001 Ford had there PI *Performanced inhanced heads* witch flow alot better so if you got the money get the PI heads as well.

if i was doing this i would get cams and everything a few guys on my other F-150 site did cams and a PI head swap and got 60-80 Rear wheel horse power depending on the cam. but thats quite a parts list and might cost you a lil bit. but it would still be cheaper than buying a supercharger kit. and not to mention you would have bigger injectors a bigger MAF and better flowing heads

Good luck you could take a look on the other F150 site F150 OL id search in the lightning forums or supercharger and turbocharger section. www.f150online.com good luck

yes because pre 2000 5.4L and pre 2003 4.6L do not have the PI heads. so if you get 5.4PI heads and intake manifold they flow better then get cams on top of it. the heads add about 20-30hp and the cams depends can get you 20-40hp. both of them togther makes so mean power. one without the other is a nice gain but if you rip into the heads mine as well get a cam

hey well i didnt know that, i learn something new every day! so the only thing needed from a 5.4 per say is the intake manifold and the cams and PI heads come from where? and are the cams and PI heads made for the 4.6 or is it a "cowboy" (not using the n-word in respect for all) rig?

the heads off a 4.6 and a 5.4 are the same. i have 5.4 heads on my 4.6L from the factory. the only thing diff is the stroke a 5.4 has a longer stroke giving it more power and more CI 330 were a 4.6 is only 281. i would find a 5.4 2001+ they would have the better flowing "PI heads" on a 4.6 they didnt get PI heads till 2003.

you can get heads and up from a 2001+ 5.4 or heads and up off a 2003+ 4.6L well just 2003 because 97-03 is the same i donno what they changed in 04. but 5.4 heads or 4.6 heads will bolt right on. id recommend comp camp Engery Extrem cams. thats what ive seen most guys on the other site run with PI heads and seen 60+HP to the wheels

well, I've called a couple of different places, and evidently they don't even make SC's for our trucks anymore. All you can get them for now is the Lightning. I got told by several different companies that they are pulling out of the truck market due to lack of interest.

you have a 2008 F-150. compltely diff.

on the 97-03 trucks i belive paxton, wipple, and a few others still make super chargers. so what if they make them for just lightnings there is no diff between a lightning a 5.4 or a 4.6. just the intake manifold on the lightning is diff.
