1999 5.4 triton #2 cylinder misfire
#4
on the 4.6 and 5.4, if the plugs are good, it's usually a coil. What to do is swap the coil with another one and see if the misfire moves to that cylinder. if it does it's the coil. They are VERY common on these motor.

e150 misfire
just changed my coils and plugs today.1999 e150 5.4.man what a job changing plugs and cops in the van.i had a misfire and slugish performance for about a month.tried lots of things to correct problem but finally had to bite the bullet and change plugs and coils.van has 275000 miles on it and this is my second plug change and first cop change.took about 5 hours to do the job but the van runs like new again.funny how you dont notice the degraded performance until after it runs good again.i got a set from ebay for $80 and they work very good.i used silicon spray on the rubber boots instead of dielectric grease.lots of antiseize on the threads.the way this truck is holding up i may need to change them again in a few years.
