Question Windshield wipers

I have 89 F150 with a 300 I6, Two wheel drive. I'm not sure how the wiper switch is suppose to work, but I do have hi, med, and low that work. When I turn the switch to the left it feels like it should be on the timed wiper. (start out slow and the farther left should be faster) When I turn it to the left all I get is one speed though.(I think fast) Is this right or could the switch be bad, or could it be something else???

Follow the wires from the switch down to the wiper control module. Open up the control module and check the solder connections. Resolder anything questionable and put it back together. This has worked for a lot of people, including me. Yes, the other direction is supposed to be delay.
