Check the computer for codes, this thread will tell you how:

You didn't say your year truck. This won't work for '96 and up.

i'm a little confused with the code
my F150 is a 1995 OBD 1

how do we know if i got 2 number or 3 numbers code??
ill try again tomorrow for the code, right now, i got something like
1 7 2 1 7 3 3 3 2 6 6 8

my EGR is unplug right now, but i dont think that could coz that trouble...

The 2-digit codes will usually flash a bit slower than if you have 3-digit codes. There is also a longer pause between codes. If you pay close attention (and try it several times) you'll get a feel for the rythm that it flashes.

172 - O2 sensor shows lean condition
173 - O2 sensor shows rich condition
332 - insufficient EGR flow
668 - I have no idea - you might check again to make sure those numbers are correct.

Either way, all of these first 3 codes point at your EGR system. The way your truck is acting points toward EGR issues. The fact that it's unplugged (the sensor, or the exhaust inlet?) will make your truck run like crap too.

Do you have something unplugged because it's not working? Maybe reconnect everything, clear codes, drive it awhile, and see what codes come along after driving it.

668- Transmission range circuit voltage above maximum voltage
I'm not sure what this one would be.

In addition to what aliens8mycow said I would also check the TPS. It sounds like it isn't giving a good reading in the middle positions.

When I had the never-ending EGR deal a while back, my E4OD would give a few wierd codes now and then. Once the rest of the motor was back in business and not giving codes for all sorts of stuff, the tranny codes never came back. Best I can guess is that some of the bad readings from other sensors get the tranny sensors confused too?

I don't know... I'd leave the 668 until the other issues are corrected, then see if it persists.

Either way, sean is the resident expert, and he helped me get my EGR deal straightened out. You're in good hands here!

the egr is that important?
i heard from some people that we can leave the vaccum line unplug
(when i purchase the truck, he was like that)

ill try again to check the code

yeah - the computer mixes air/fuel to match the egr position. If things don't match, you're either running really rich, or really lean. The motor won't enjoy either one.

116- engine coolant temperature sensor outside test limits. If this sensor is bad the engine won't run very well.
636- Transmission operating temperature sensor voltage out of self test range
172- o2 sensor indicates system always lean
173- o2 sensor indicates system always rich
332- insufficient EGR flow detected
668- transmission range circuit voltage above maximum voltage
Sounds like much of your problems are because of the EGR.
