Default Silver trim inside body moulding on 1996 Ford F150

Does anyone know how I can remove the silver from that is inside the rubber body moulding on the the lower half of both sides of my 1996 F150?

The chrome has rusted and is peeling. I don't want to swap the entire moulding out because the present moulding color matches the truck.

I have purchased a roll of 3/4 inch flexible chrome automotive trim and also a roll of chrome tape in case I can't get the silver trim removed. I think the best fit would be the trim as the tape will eventually wear off.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Melanie

You can't buy just the chrome insert separately. You have to buy the complete trim piece.
