Default programmers?

do they make programmers for 92 f150 with the 4.9L... or maybe a chip... can't find anything on google...

Not really. I think Jet or hypertech might have one for the 302/351 trucks.

Unfortunately, being OBD1 and being an application with very little aftermarket push, there is not much application specific.

I will say this, being OBD-I, your best bet is to buy the $300 custom programmed one. You'll actually talk to the company rep and discuss any modifications you have and exactly what your look to do. Otherwise, the "generic" chips for our trucks are "average" tunes and will most likely suck. You get what you pay for....

different programmer, you truck is OBD-II, the OP's truck is OBD-I, waaay different.

And to be honest, having had the 4.9 for years, I don't see even a custom flip chip doing all that much for it.
