Default not the fuel pump what is it????

yesterday my 87' f150 died and won't start. It turns over but sound's like it isn't getting any fuel. I just put a new gas tank on and the pump was working fine. I also put a new filter on at the same time. what else could it be?

Check your fuel pump relay and inertia switch

Default Not the fuel pump.

Where is the inertia switch? I was not aware that there was one.

My 87 f-150 did something similar and I posted the problem here. Someone responded that he had had the same and he disconnected the vacuum line that goes across the top of the engine (4.9) and squirted starting fluid into the plastic "Y" connector and it started right up. It died after the fluid was burned, but after several starts using this method the engine finally pulled, through line vacuum I assume, fuel from the tank and ran fine. I did the same and it worked the same for me.

Good luck.

Did you check if you have any fuel pressure? Can you hear the pump run?
