Default Fuel Pump?

I have a 1996 5 spd manual f150...Today while driving, the truck stalled on me. Now this truck has occaisonally stalled out on me before but has always fired right back up.

Today however, no such luck. The truck will turn over and sometimes start only to quickly die back out. I think there maybe something wrong w/ the fuel system b/c it just doesn't seem to be getting enough gas. So what do you think fuel pump, maybe the filter.

Could be either one, but I'm going to say its the filter.

Have you ever replaced it?

your first order of business should be two fold, Did you change the fuel filter? Also, what does the pump sound like when the truck is put into accessory on?

Didnt Ford have a TSB on the fuel pump? My mom's '93 F150 had a TSB performed on the fuel system a few years back.

Due to the fact that I can hear the pump when I turn the key I'm going off of the assumption that it is the filter. Hopefully Im right!

does the pump make any noises like sounding a bit weak?

When I swapped hte motor in my car, the OEM pump which is a craptacular 95lph, sounded a bit weak when it kicked on.....it was replaced by a 255lph Walbro, that it almost silent.
