Question Duals pipes on a inline 6 cylinder

Has anyone ever put one of those Y mufflers ( one inlet and two outlets ) on a 300 straight 6 cylinder?? I was thinking about buying one for mine but I was just wondering what it sounded like before I went out and wasted my money. Would love to here your input...

A 6 is A 6 and it will never sound like an 8, so if thats what you are trying to achieve, forget it. Otherwise it's personal taste, I think it sounds a fart on a hard chair in a big empty room. Sorry for being so blunt.

im pretty sure that alot of people have done it, a flowmaster 40 single in/dual out will give a nice deep tone that wont sound like a fart. it wont be too loud because its still a 6 cylinder, but itll louden and deepen it up pretty good.

agreed, a 6 is a 6. I wouldn't waste the money.

The 6 has two manifolds. I'd like to do it but it's not at the top of my list. Just something I'd like to do but not for any particular reason. Anything I do to my 6 cylinder truck isn't a waste of money.
