Question were is the carborator

Were is the carborator on the 1993 6cyl f150 pick up? After I got my fuel filter changed (and it seems to run ok so far)the mechanic says its leaking oil ( yes I can see its leaking, the gaskit are what ever you call its tech name is for it is history and I need to get it done asap) on the carb and will cause a fire, understandible, but I didnt think my truck has the typical carb that I seen on other vehicals. I have two mechanics saying you have one and you dont. Thanks for the help guys this forum is a bigger help then most of the so called mechanics here at work.

Dee, may be you have a picture of your oil leak? It could help to understand a problem.. I've never seen oil leaking on a carb or even close May be it's a valve cover gasket leak ?

Smack dab under the engine is the oil pan, that can(and will) leak oil. A carburetor is located on top of the engine and, to my knowledge, does not leak oil. Your truck did not come with a carburetor, it is fuel injected and would have a throttle body in place of a carburetor.

I am going thru the list that was recomended. The truck still feels like its having trouble trouble getting gas so the codes are next, sometimes the check eng light comes on most of the time it dosnt.Fuel pump is only 2 years old and and it hesitates with both tanks and I do not see any problems with the hose so codes it is but the mech want to keep the truck all day this is from the same guy who wants to buy the truck, ya right, not going to happen. Thanks guys I'll keep you updated. P.S. I'm telling all my freinds here at the hospital about your forum.
