Default battery light

ok i just changed my O2 sensor, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. the truck has been running rough (rough idle, missing and such.) i changed the O2 sensor because it was cracked. this didnt help. so i went on to change the plugs and wires. after changing all of the plugs and wires, my battery light now comes on. the alternator is less than a year old. the volt gauge in the truck also gives me a normal reading. the truck also starts right up with no problems, however it still runs like ****.

Even though the alternator is less than a year old, it could have gone bad already. Take the truck to the parts store and have the alternator and battery tested. As far as the truck running rough, check the computer for codes first, this thread will explain how:

ok so i went to go get everything tested and guess what happens......... the light decided it wanted to go out as soon as i pulled out of my driveway. i took it out anyway and it turns out it needed a battery. ended up gettin an exide battery with a 6 year warranty for 60 bucks truck still runs really rough tho.

fyi for anyone else encoutering this issue, if you are in doubt of a battery, just meter it for about 11.5-14 volts...if you get it then its good, if not, charge it for a little and then remeasure
