'93 5.0L EFI starting problems
As mentioned above, I have a '93 5.0L EFI with starting problems. I ran it, and it started just fine, up until today. I had not run it in the last couple of days and the temperature has been pretty cold here (below 20 for the highs, single digit lows). Turning the key primes the pumps, the engine turns over (although I am running my battery down now), and it almost catches. I have read some places that it could be my air charge temperature sensor. Is this true? Also, I can't seem to locate it and have not found any diagrams that point me in the right direction. Unfortunately I am stranded at home and cannot get to a parts store unless I walk 3 miles (in about 40" of snow, some uphill, but not barefoot; the snow part is no joke). Before I head out I want to make certain I am getting everything I need to get it fixed as I don't really want to make the journey more than once. Anyone with any information is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site!
I suppose it could be the ACT sensor - although that wouldn't be my first suspicion.
Is there a possibility of fuel line icing? Do you have plenty of fuel rail pressure (there's a test port on the fuel rail)? Are you getting good spark?
Suggest to scrounge up a battery charger and get it going while you troubleshoot.

Am remembering days long time past and engines almost catched but wouldn't. Naturally, I'm talking talking about carburated engines. But, perhaps its been flooded for what ever reason. First I would recommend turning the key on and off several times, just to prime the fuel rail. Can you hear the fuel pump when doing this? Attemp to start engine, if it continues to try to catch but won't, then put the accelerator all the way down, this turn off the injectors to clear a flooded engine.

Turned the key over several times to pump the fuel rail (I do hear it come on), have no way of testing the fuel rail pressure (still somewhat of a newbie with those things), and have pushed the accelerator to the floor to clear out the engine. Low and behold, it started. I am letting it run for a while and then will see if it starts tomorrow morning. It will be plugged in all night, so keep your fingers crossed! Thank you all so much.
