I have a leak in my tank. I think the leak is under strap. I took off the strap but cant see the the leak. I was hoping to be able to patch it up. There is a canvas strap under the metal strap that is rotten. Do I need to replace the canvas? Or can I just leave it off?

The canvas piece is to keep the strap from rubbing a hole in the tank and to keep it from squeaking. You can use roofing dry in felt or what I did was spray a coat of rubberized undercoating on the tank and strap.

How many gallons of gas dose my tank hold? It has one tank that is long and skinny. It looks like a torpedo.

No dual tanks huh? Well I know each dual tank holds about 20 gallons and I think the single tank trucks hold about 30 gallons.
