Default quick question

If I decide to do this it wont be for atleast another 8-10 months at least.

I recently got a truck from my uncle, a 1973 F350. My brother checked it out for me since its back home in Washington and im stuck in NC for now. He said its in great running condition and the only problems are play in the steering, needs new paint job, and interior needs a little bit of work.

The truck also has an old 390 FE motor in it (stock, I checked the vin) and a 3.73 rear end. My question being....what thoughts do you all have about that 390 being in my 92 F150? I know if I do it its going to require quite a bit of work to make sure everything goes/works right.

Just tossing ideas around, more than likely I'll just fix up the truck and use it for big hauls.

It won't be smog legal. If your state requires inspections you won't be allowed to drive it on public streets.

Im not too sure about state...I think it depends on county. The county it would be under doesn't do emissions or anything like that.

Pretty sure inspections are a state thing. I know my state doesn't require them. It's awesome.

Maine has emissions laws but its just needing a cat that's about all they look for in Maine. check the local shops out before diving in.

I know my brother is able to get away with his exhaust because of the county he lives in, if he were in Seattle he wouldn't be able to keep it. Plus, the truck has been with my uncle for years and years, he's never had any trouble from state or county.

Just checked. Anything older than 25 years doesn't require emissions tests in Washington.

'73 is smog exempt. You want to play around with something, play with that.
