Dodge+Ford = always ready
yea my 250 does it very slowly (maybe a quarter of a tank will drain into the rear over the course of using a full front tank, aka 3 quarters of a tank) but i got 2 spare pumps on the 150 so if 1 ever goes out ill spend a couple hours swapping pumps.

thanks for the support guys but yeah i know they need some work, no daddy will not be paying for everything, he only pays for my insurance, i know alot about cars/trucks ive been taught by my dad since i was a little guy so i should be fine figuring out the problems, and yeah i really want the 95 4.9 5speed 4x4 because its right in my price range but the 5 speeds are hard to come by

I'm 17 right now too. Like some other guys said, you won't mind spending the money if you love your truck. I have the 4.9 and spend $60-$100 on gas a week getting an average 12MPG city and about 16MPG highway. I've had mine for about 10k miles and nothing major has went wrong with it but they do require weekly or monthly maintenance.

Wow! I only drive around 500 miles@month with my '95 4.9. I put between $20-$30 @week in it. Can't imagine $60-$100. Maybe if I had the 4x4 with large tires and geared low. Getting around 20mpg highway. I wouldn't use the 4x4 if I had it around where I live. That's what my ATV is for.
My regular monthly expense for two f-150's is less than $300 insurance included. I haven't had a breakdown in a couple of years and the only other expense is oil and fluid changes..............and the few bucks I spend on non-necessary, but really cool stuff! Lol

I'd just like to jump in and say these trucks are really pretty dependable. Either that or my '87 4.9 short bed is an anomaly. It was bought essentially as scrap, $200, got tires and wheels, a battery, a muffler, and down the road a ways a couple of ball joints. That was in the mid 1990s, and it has been working ever since for very little pay. I liked it so well, i bought a 1996 4.9 longbed, and while there have been a few issues with it, most of those were brought on by the previous owner, who threw tons of cash at it, but not always with good results. Still when it is sorted, I'll have a very nearly restored truck that should go a couple hundred thousand miles with minimal attention. BTW the 87 still works hard and has been doing all of the work while the vave rocker issue was sorted on the 96.
