The new money pit... 2017 SCrew Oxford White/Magnetic two tone
EDIT: Reorganizing this post a little to include mod and post links.
So my 2017 SCab was traded in to the insurance company a couple weeks ago.
New project time!
Just closed a deal on a 2017 SCrew 3.5 XLT 2wd with chrome package.
Got a steal on a set of 20" platinum wheels, and Cooper AT3 XLTs on order. I’m going with 275/60r20’s. Bilstein front shocks going on as soon as I get it. It’ll be leveled 2" in the front and raised 1" in the back with lift shackles.
The truck is oxford white/magnetic two tone. I’m still getting used to that. I have a magnetic rear bumper on the way. I’m thinking about doing the Bumpershellz front end caps in magnetic, kinda like the King Ranch two tones. Leaving the center bumper chrome, and then replacing the XLT chrome grille with a chrome Lariat or platinum grille. If I go that route I’ll leave some of the chrome accents, like the door and tailgate handles, as well as the running boards. I’ve never been a chrome guy, I totally dechromed my last truck, but I’m thinking the combination of wheels, grille, and the smaller accents may look good on this particular truck.
Picked the truck up this morning. Wheels and tires went on first, followed by tinting the front windows to match the back.
Also installed a UWS Securelock low profile toolbox in matte black. It’s slightly grey in color, so it kinda matches the magnetic rocker panels.
I’m hoping to install the magnetic rear bumper caps tomorrow, and I’ll be getting the front Bumpershellz end caps painted in the next couple days.
Oxford White mirror caps came in today too. No, they’re not for sale. 😂
Also plan to have bilsteins installed Monday, front and back , with the fronts set to max lift.
Now if I can just find out what salvage yard bought my old truck and see if I can scavenge the TrueTrac LSD out of it...
On a side note: I can confirm that 275/60r20’s do not rub at full lock on a stock 2wd. Haven’t tried any flexing, but it won’t matter, front gets lifted in a couple days.
EBay painted mirror caps installed. Finish is good for the most part—some very minor plastic trimming is needed. Mostly just trash leftover from the molds. Paint finish is spot on. Not too bad for $75.
I agree. That's a nice stance. The two-tone does it for me also. I don't normally dig the chrome look, but it's working on yours. Maybe it's that two-tone approach that makes it work for me.
I also agree with the title of the thread.
Looking at the long list of "I wants" for this truck. Adds up to second-hand vehicle.
Thanks guys. This was my old truck: It should show you how much I don’t care for chrome. 😂
I have a Lariat Chrome grille coming Thursday. Fairway and Tasca both have it discounted for around $300 right now. I’m going to keep the chrome door handles and running boards for a bit of accent chrome to go with the wheels and grille. I also have two 20” single row light bars on the way. I plan to mount those behind the grill while I’m swapping it out.
LED reverse, cargo, brake, and third brake light bulbs will be going in this weekend.

looks great! I have a silver/magnetic two tone that I’ve gone back and forth on getting silver mirror caps for. Do you have a link for the eBay vendor you used?
