Plasti-Dip on Chrome Bumper

Plasti-Dip on Chrome Bumper
Has anyone used Plasti dip on chrome bumpers? I just ask because I don't know how well it adhears to the metal compared to plastic. I'd like to do PTM on everything and I found that Anthracite True Metallic Plasti Dip is a near perfect match, and near perfect is really good for the cost savings compared to buying new PTM bumpers and having them painted.

Should be fine... watch the videos on dipyourcar.com and you'll be fine. Clean the bumper and mask off the larger areas, no need to mask tightly. I did my acura rims in the same paint and it lasted great for 2 years...

clean the bumper good with alcohol, and when it's clean, clean it again. Other than that, Dip stick to the chrome bumper just as well as a painted surface.
A bit of advive, don't cheap out, do a good 4 or 5 coats... trust me you won't regret it down the road when you go to peel it off.
I did mine, and it was covered really well after 2 coats. it ended up scraping off around a fog light hole when I slid off the road into a snow filled ditch, easy touch up fixed that. but last fall I decided to peel the dip and paint the bumper with bed liner.... man there was no peeling the dip that was only 2 coats, but the touch up area by my fog that had around 5 coats total peeled nice. I spent 3 hours with brake clean and paper towels cleaning the rest of the bumper.
So yeah, about 5 coats and you will be good to go.

Well, why didn't you just put a couple more coats on, then peel?LOL

Must've been some weak brake cleaner because with my stuff I spray it on and it comes right off in a few swipes

I did mine. At least 5 coats of grey and then 2-3 of gloss. Had others mistake it for paint. Bumpers are one of the easiest parts to dip that will still look good and hold well.

Look at Rustoleum Peelcoat in Graphite. Every Walmart near me has it. Here it is on my wheels for over a year now. It is actually 2 coats of graphite over 3 coats of black plasti-dip. When I first got it, it was new. So I wasnt sure if it would peel like plasti-dip. It sure flows and covers better than plasti-dip.

Mine has been on the bumper for well over a couple years now.
