Yeah I looked up the tire size comparison and if I remember it was just under 3% so not significant.

My tire shop does have a set of 275/65R18 stock load range duratracs in stock and I could get them for $1000 mounted and balanced. I would need to remove the leveling kit and have the alignment done. If I ordered the 295s it would take a few days and cost about $1300 out the door. Of course that's also a 10 ply load range E tire.

In other news I found out that the lady who had the truck never changed the factory air filter.

You can see all the junk that came out just by tapping it on the ground.

Here it is in a zip lock bag.

Well it looks like she is going to need a tie rod and something is going on with the passenger side brake caliper so that's some more $$$$ I was hoping not to spend.

I decided to go with 275/65R18 duratracs in the factory load range and remove the leveling kit. I figure the ride quality will be better and since I plan on running a winch if I do find my self in a sticky situation at least I will have a recovery option.

IDK, Duratracs aren't exactly high mpg tires. You probably won't gain anything going to a more extreme AT.

Can't be any worse than the mud terrains he has now.

To early to tell but the ride is definitely more smooth and the truck seems to have slightly more get up go.

I do have a tire out of balance and the steering wheel is tilted slightly to the right after the alignment so I will probably take it back in before the road trip.

Next steep is ordering the hidden winch mount and all that good stuff.

Not sure what's going on or if it's from the tires or another issue but MPG has dropped by 3-4!!!!

Before I changed the clogged air filter it was getting about 16mpg and after a solid 17-18. After picking it up last night and making two trips on the same road it's 13-14.

What pressure are they at? They probably put them at 35, which is too low for good mpg with heavy tires.

Like spiky said check pressure. I had that happen and turned out that was the problem. They had them set too low. Worth a look.

Tire pressure is 38 psi.

But I think this may be the issue.

Right front caliper sticking. It took a 20 inch pry bar just to turn the rotor. New caliper on the passenger side, new front rotors, and new pads.
