Default Weather Tech Digital Fit Mats FX4 & Sony Sub

So I was going to install the WT's mats in my truck and now rethinking it a little, the fitment is not bad, but it's not fully covering things as expected to the T.

The fronts are better than the back, yet the front do not cover much up the side walls at all, that kinda surprised me a little.

The rear with the sub does not fit well at all IMHO, before I cut this to fit, is there better?

These are for sure better then the OEM F150 logo ones fitment wise and prob hold up better.

The opening for the sub is around 15 inches if it's cut as shown on the mat, yet the floor footprint for the sub frame is only 11 1/4 inches. Since the sub itself sits above the floor frame, then if it's cut as show, it offers zero protection up the back wall and on the sides.

So that limits the full coverage, yeah it's a little OCD, but yet for the costs, I wonder if they have something better for the exact model I own, with better coverage?

I will also "crazy as it might be" have a hairy well behaved super sweet husky mix in the back of this rig soon. So I'm doing what ever I need to do to protect the interior and make it super easy to clean.

This includes a fully custom pet seat cover and side wall protection, that covers the seats on the back and backseats of the front seats, with an a vent access screen, will see how the fitment is once it's delivered in a week or so lol.

Thanks..

Mine is S-cab which requires different fitment rear floor mat, but I chose Husky Liners vs Weathertech mats.

You can see that in this related August 2015 thread:

We've had Weathertecs in other vehicles and I'm not personally impressed. I have Huskys in my F150, quite happy. Reminds me, I think it's time to dump them out again.

I'm starting to think WT maybe just a little over rated on a case by case basis...

I went with Husky for the sheer monetary difference. I bought them online with a discount and free shipping from RealTruck I think. Love them so far! The rear (on a SCrew) does not go all the way under the seat though. So I am planning on adding a storage bin at a later date.

The sides are so tall on most of them that they end up curling over. At that point they are (1) a tripping hazard, (2) ugly as sin.

Yeah for sure WT are priced high, but if you shop them you can get some serious discounts I found. But now that I have them, I feel like they are not as expected. Again it's been years since I owned some WT's, they deff make them cheaper than 5 years ago.
