Tough crowd.

OP, suggest you start by getting some accurate data:
  1. Fill your tank.
  2. Record odometer.
  3. Drive til near empty.
  4. Fill tank again.
  5. Record odometer and gallons put in.
  6. Subtract previous odometer from current odometer. Divide by gallons. That is your MPG.
Do this 2 or 3 times and average the results. Estimate rough percentage of highway vs stop-and-go driving over that period. Compare to manufacturers data for your model. Now you've got some solid info to base decisions on.

If I'm telling you something you already know, sorry about that. Tying to estimate mileage on individual trips using the fill gauge is worthless. The error inherent in your fuel reading is huge relative to the amount of fuel used on a short trip.

Not a tough crowd... annoyed and just done crowd. This kid has been registered under multiple usernames, posts the same problems, doesn't listen to any advice, doesn't try the things he's been told to try and report back so we can continue to help, resorts to name calling and then leaves threads unfinished. You are just now seeing this kid after we have been dealing with him for months. He's been banned from multiple Facebook groups and every other month claims he's done with this "POS" and is selling it. Then we get a new user that posts the exact same problems. Good luck helping someone who doesn't listen and won't try what you tell him.

I try not to get mad about the internet. It's not real life. If you get too annoyed, suggest you go have an elk burger and a beer at the Historic Ute Inn. Say hi to Elijah!

Not mad, everyone's just pretty much done with him. I just smile and shake my head these days. I thought I'd try to save you from wasting your time.

Yep, the Ute is a fairly regular haunt.
