One of the reasons for my purchasing a 6.5 ft box. Backflip stays in and can throw 4 mntn bikes back there. Waiting on the box rack system to add kayaks on top of the bikes.
How much rubbing does that lid do against your rear window area? seems to me that could be an issue later on, rubbing off the paint eventually and what about squeaking noise as you drive?
Thanks for posting this... I'm about to pull the trigger on the same Bakflip lid and big reason I went with the 6.5' bed was to haul bikes with the tailgate up! Are your bikes 29", 27.5", 26"? Can you tell me about how far off the front of the truck bed your rack is sitting, or rather how far back from the front of the truck bed the tire sits?

My Bakflip FibreMax has a strip of foam that contacts the cab.
Nothing contacts the paint. Three foam bumpers press up to the top edge of the rear window. No noise at all.
The bikes are 3x27.5" and 1x26" for my 9yo. The upper cross brace of the rack is at about 9" from the front of the box. I have a couple of spacers keeping it from moving forward and it is clipped to the lower box brackets at the front. Surprisingly stable.
My large reign advanced has a long/low geometry with a very long wheelbase. It goes in backwards and I keep the bars turned 45 degrees to close the tailgate. The other bikes fit fine without turning the bars. 2 mediums and an extra small.
