They appear to be the small ones because it only has the one attachment.

I'm looking for a 'one man' solution for loading and unloading heavy things like a generator or snowblower into the bed of my truck. I'm thinking of using ramps and perhaps a hand winch to winch it up and lower it down the ramps, mounted on a 2x8 on the front e-track. Would the mounting plates be strong enough? If anyone has other suggestions, I'd welcome them.

Have you seen these hitch mounted lifts, there are several kinds. Here are a couple:

I think that the two interface plates would handle the load in that direction (horizontal shear?). In fact, you might be better off tying off to both BoxLink cleats and foregoing the e-tracks and 2x8. Something like this:

...with one end clipped to each cleat, and then a come-along attached to the center. I think that would work.

Picked up one of the small baskets from my local Northern Tool. Was a bit disappointed that they only had one in stock and one in the back with no mounting hardware. Out of stock online as well. If it ever comes back in stock I'm thinking of getting the medium sized basket and just using one of the mounting brackets. I don't plan on putting anything heavy in there so don't think it would be a problem with one bracket. I was able to to fit a roll of paper towels and our emergency road side kit into the small basket so I'm still happy at least. Bed rug made it so I didn't need to install any foam shims or rubber bumpers.

This is exactly why when I Googled Ford F150 E-Track I got to this thread in 3 clicks. I JUST tried my D Ring clips (I easily had 4 spare from my V-Nose Trailer) on my 17 Raptor and was really concerned about all the slop from left to right...and while I could not physically pull the D Ring out myself...I was really worried if I had an ATV or something ratchet Strapped to it with all that play...seems a little stupid to me...either fit nice and snug or not at all...Hoping as I read on you guys will have found a cure.

So I see that you guys used the Foam H-Vac insulation or a pool noodle (great color coordinating ha ha), but my concern is NOT the front to back play, but the side to side play as the E-Track hook/locking portion is physically narrower than the Ford Base Mount...

Was hoping E-Track made a wider male base D Ring for the Wider Female Ford Base...

These two pieces have been hundreds of thousands of miles over the years....and various trucks. I have straps when needed but this rope lives in the bed.

Old school.
