That was a fun little experience. While Isince I had the heads back off I figured I'd get some adjustable gears to dial my cams in.
After making tools, finding true TDC, I measured my cams centerline with the stock timing. Bank 1 was pretty close to spec(1/4 ° retarded) but bank 2 was over 3° retarded.
After hours of spinning, checking, adjusting and re checking I finally got both cams synced up within a 10th of a degree.
Well Done Sir That no doubt was a test in patience.
Finished making my harness. Had something jury rigged so I could use the window, but had to find the right pigtail for the truck side. Thank you Ron for having that catalog... got the new plug in, soldered it all up, and wrapped it up in electrical tape. OEM look for a harness that doesn't exist.
No pictures but I finally gutted the cab and cleaned it all. Also anyone have any suggestions for seat covers for the middle console seat? Not wanting to pay the $200 for the amazon set and also tried of burning myself on the leather in this Texas heat...

What color leather do you have? You could just go swipe a lid from a junkyard.

Look! An impregnated loom! Holey wads of resistance!

LOL. Yeah, I had to work around that shizz. The gauge of the wire was definitely larger from what I used, so yeah. Lol, wasn't going to go out buy more wire, lol.

Me thinks you's just not good at soldering haha just kidding man. Though I am a little confuzzled as to how the connections for the wires could be so bulky regardless of difference in wire gauge LOL

My solder skills are a bit subpar, lol. I won't deny it. That was near where they join, and trying to get the wires together so I could solder them was a little annoying. It was weird though. That was 16 gauge (IIRC) that i used for the wire and the pigtails had to be close to 12 gauge.

Lol, The best thing about acquiring an old new take-off harness through the years was having the ability to find the right color wire and length to make a harness when in need. Not to mention replace broken connectors. I guess the only problem with that is when you wanted to use heavier wire. Ford used the smallest wire they could get away with. I can't say I've rebuilt most my harness, but man, had to replace a lot of it along with the connectors. Connectors dry up and break if you look at them funny on these trucks. That's a big problem, specially if you look funny to begin with.
