My New Ride
Hey guys. I finally picked up the new truck this past weekend and had to go back to the dealership today to get the tires off my old truck swapped out as part of the deal. I traded up from a 2013 Screw with the 5.0 to the 2.7 EB Screw in Sport package. I made the dealership go 4 hours away to get the truck as it was exactly what I wanted this time (last truck not quite). I wanted the center shift console, Sync 3, power moon roof (for the kids), all black (not a huge fan of chrome.
Anyway, here she is with the tires just put on.

Congrats, very nice. I am interested to hear some performance, mileage updates from you as a comparison. I have not heard much about that motor and would liek to hear from someone who went from the 5.0 to the 2.7 Eco.

Right now I'm not 100% sure on mpg. My old truck with the 5.0 got me 15 mpg average at best. On this new truck, with the stock tiny tires that for some odd reason came on it, I was seeing an average of 20 mpg (as advertised). Now, I did go up a size on tire when they put my Coopers on today. So I can't say for certain just how much affect it has. But the dash is saying 18.8 right now as an average of highway and town driving today. If it stays around that, being that the odometer is slightly off, I'd venture to guess its doing awfully well. I knew I'd take a beating, as the Coopers are almost 15lbs heavier per tire than the stock tires. I believe I'm going to bump down to a lighter P rated or C load tire to help the MPG and the ride a bit.
Performance wise... wow is the only way to say it. This little motor so far is just awesome. I'm shocked at the low end power it has and how quickly it comes to life.
