Default Installed K&N CAI

This was much more easier than i first thought. With the assistance of a buddy, we put on the cai in about 1.5 hours. when i received the box and saw all the parts it was pretty intimidating. but after we removed the stock intake which took all of 5 minutes everything else just fell into place without any problems. i attached some pictures that i thought might help. in picture #1 is what i believe are one of the mass air sensors. it is very easily removed by spreading apart the green release and pulling back. also not pictured is the other end of the air mass hose connecting it to the driver side valve cover which was also removed the same exact way. in picture #2 i believe it's the second mass air sensor. this was removed by pushing down on the red release button and pulling back on the set of wires.

the thing i've noticed while driving home is it's much louder. haven't noticed any torque increases from a dead stop, but it took my truck about a week to adjust to my 35's, so i'm hoping i'll notice a difference in about a week.

fyi i have an 07' 4.6 (one of the reasons why i bought the cai) and the k&n part number was 57-2574. (paid $275)

you're not going to notice any torque increases. I have one on my 4.6 also. All you will really notice is throttle response thats about it. and that is minimal. Glad you got it installed with no problems.

Second picture is the MAF, but the first picture is your crankcase breather tube. This allows the crankcase pressure to route to the intake and be burned off. In days of yore, this tube routed to the street; you'd see cars running down the road billowing this pressure from under the engine. No harm with re-burning them with a healthy engine.

K&N provides a great detailed instruction list; pictures and good understandable step by step instructions.
