Peak horsepower it comes close but still shy of the 5.4 V8....peak torque isnít even close. The 5.4 Triton peaks much lower in the rev range and has 100 lb-ft more than the 3.3 at its peak....

From some ford guys Iíve talked to all the new 5.0s will consume oil during break in. The use of low friction rings and the new hard low friction plasma liners make a more prolonged break-in process....

The ecoboost does fetch less $$ than the V8. When I bought my 6.2L Platinum the V8 was a few grand more than the same truck with the Ecoboost, that was consistent through asking prices.
