I just did mine actually, a fan controller and a set of dual fans from a 2000 ford windstar. My fans kick on early, I have them set between 200 and 195 degrees, which is just after the thermostat...

Sounds like a bad PCV valve (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) to me, pull the valve, and shake it, no rattle=bad valve, for the cost of the valve you should just replace it. Run the engine with it...

Ok I ended up ordering a dual fan for a windstar and a dual fan controller and a new thermostat while I'm at it, I'll let y'all know how It goes when It all arrives!

I would say 4.10s for your uses, I ran 3.55's in my last truck(302) with 33x12.5 TSL Bogger SS, THAT was a dog, but she got along alright, so I'd say 4.10s would be best.
