How many miles are on your truck? I have the same model year and engine.

Why don't you use the overdrive on your truck, why run it in the lower gears?

Have you ever looked under the truck? Is there oil on the ground in the morning? Four quarts is a lot of oil, is there any thrown up onto the underside of the truck?

White or yellow in oil is caused by a blown headgasket or cracked block or head, change your oil you will find it is contaminated with anti freeze or fuel. Also do a leakdown test the rings could...

Try this fix, Release the brake, pull the release lever again hold it pulled out and at the same time lift the parking brake pedal to the top of its movement, hold it up, now let go of the release...

Ground cables, I said this to someone else before, but it is still the right answer, check the cables, most likely your starter motor cables.

Did you check the ground strap to the starter, or the relay, if you don't know what to do, buy a " chiltons' and learn!

drop the oil pan, clean it and the oil pickup screen, check if the assembly is totally gunk free including the pickup tube. If they are in good shape check your oil pump,or replace or fix that, check...
