Well why I'm at a loss is because I had a 1978 F100 with a 302 and it had no issues spinning tires or loss of power and was in horrible shape.

Belt tensioner assembly

I put a new belt on and when I rev my truck the belt tensioner slaps up and down pretty hard, sounds like banging 2 pieces of metal together. It didnt do this with previous belt? Is it to weak now...

My book says for 7.5L flat flange bolts tighten to 30ft lbs. Only place it mentions flange lol.

My Chilton book says exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold for the 4.9L is 25-35 ft. lbs. Doesn't mention flange in my book either for that motor.

So Oreilly site says part is a 1" 1/16 socket. Apparently someone has tried to remove this before and rounded it very bad. Would it be ok to tap on a 1" and try to get it to catch with that?
