Kinda looks like you didn't oil that filter. It needs a light coat of oil to properly catch dirt. Just FYI. The cleaning / oiling kit can be found anywhere that sells the filters.

These are great trucks and will go and go and go if well looked after. Mine is a 92 4x4 with a 351w, original drivetrain and 181k miles. I wouldn't think twice about driving it across country aside...

I agree here. The tires you removed were worn out a long time ago and the ones you put on are worn. Not suppose to run them till they are smooth. Truck looks nice.
