I did look at the pinion seal though and as far as I could tell it was dry...

So apparently somehow the carrier bearing went in the rear with the pinion seal. Not sure how this even happened on a truck with 68,000 on the clock and minimal towing.

Unfortunately no...kinda way off the beaten path in PA. And the small mom and pop shops here I don't trust with anything equipped with OBD II and fuel injection.

Same deal. Reflash it back to stock because if you have an emissions test done it will throw a code indicating the battery was disconnected. Then they need to take it for a drive to get it to clear....

Every so often I hook the tuner up to my computer to make sure the files are all up to date. Other then that I keep it in the truck so I can swap when I like. You don't need to hook it up to your PC...

Just do it. It won't harm a thing. Just reload the stock tune before going in for any work and all it will show on their end is the battery may have been disconnected. Trust me I do it all the time....

Get it trust us. It's great. Warranty work or any dealer visit put it back to stock a few days before. Only thing that may show up is a code saying the battery was disconnected. You will be fine!
