I would check each pulley by pulling on each of them back and forth to see if it has any play in it. If one of the pulleys have play in it that's your problem. just a guess because its never happened...

When a truck shuts off like that it's losing either two things: spark or fuel. You already replaced fuel pump so that should narrow it down a bit.

No oil is full synthetic. All of them have some mineral oil in it. All synthetic oils are 75% the same. It's the last 25% (additive pack) that makes the difference.

I'm with Brandon587, I wouldn't f*** with the headache of welding it if it's rusted so bad it has a hole in it. Just replace the oil pan as I said before they're only 50$ or so.

I've changed out several oil pans before. Not on my truck but on other vehicles. Couldn't imagine it could be any harder. Soak all your oil pan bolts (about 10 or 15) in pb blaster for a couple days....

Instead of messing with trying to weld that old rusty ass oil pan. And sand it and paint it to prevent further rust. Just buy a new one that comes with a gasket. They're only about 50 bucks or so.

Anyone use royal purple products on our trucks? Doing a oil change soon and thinking of going from Mobil 1 to RP. Only because my Mobil 1 is "full synthetic" and already super dirty at 5,000 miles....
