You wouldn't have to re-gear it's just recommended if you want some performance back. I'm running stock gears with 315s. Trimming is minimal especially if you don't have a crew cab

I can't remember ever seeing on in the back of a SCREW, but you might look at ones for a ranger if you want to go with the in bed type. We love our pop-up, plenty of room and easy set up/takedown
