I felt the wind on the 2012 just as bad as on the 2016.

If you are in a head or tail wind, even if pretty severe, it doesn't feel bad. Now with a side wind, that can be totally different story.

Typical Bias. Yes there is turbo lag. Step on it and you'll feel. Hard to deny physics. Even my 2017 Fusion 2.0L has turbo lag, which is a lot less than the F150 3.5L Ecoboost lag.

The 3.5L...

I chose the 5.0L w/3.73 locker for towing my 29' 6500# travel trailer, TWICE. Once in 2012, with the 5.0L and 3.73 locker and now in 2016 with the 5.0L and 3.73 locker.

Yes, drive them back to...

Just went through this with a coworker who has a 2003 and wants to carry a smaller truck camper.

Nope, my 2012 F150 was configured EXACTLY the same with 36 gallon tank and 3.73 9.75" differential. The 2016 does not have the chrome package the 2012 had though. The weight difference is that the...

Not true, you get the 3800 lbs rear axle with any of the axle ratios/sizes, 3.31, 3.55, or the 3.73. I've checked.

Only the 2.7L Ecoboost gets a lower axle rating and GVWR with it's lighter, light...

The 2017 5.0L (https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/2017/models/f150-xlt/) doesn't have DI, it has Sequential multi-port electronic injection. 2018 added Direct Injection to the multiport injection.

The 2.7l is impressive. If it weren't for the over pricing, we would had bought it in our 2017 Fusion (https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2862/33113309033_78d8096a18_b.jpg)instead of the 2.0l eco.

Yep, that's why Active Brake Limited Slip on the F150 now is better than a mechanical Limited Slip Differential. You don't have to apply the brakes yourself, the sensors will do it for you. .
