No problem! If you replaced the gear you don't have to mess with anything on the PCM, being you have a '97. '99-'03 are the ones that have to have the PCM reflashed because there is no driven gear....

I grew up with Chevy's, my first truck was a '91 Silverado. The older Chevrolets '98 and older are unbreakable. These new ones on the other hand, not so much. The reliability is just under par to me....
