Short answer: nope.

You need IDS to do a horizontal alignment of the C-CM.

If you don't do a calibration, you will get an "adaptive cruise not available" type of message on the info center

The wires are plenty long enough to swap button locations and the cutouts looked very similar to me but I didn't try it myself. I'd definitely try it if that's what you're looking to do.
