I'd go with flex as well. All metal flexes/deforms. Similar to wheel bearings making noises when only turning one way vs. the other, as loading changes.

I would also check the wiring going from your driver door to the cab. Pull the rubber boot back and see if any are frayed. One wire frayed on mine and prevented a few of the windows from operating.
