No, they started putting check valves on the fuel line themselves when the in tank check valve failed. This was a cheaper method then changing the pump out.

Just connect both evap vents on the top of the tanks to a T and run a line to the canister.

Are you sure you hooked the clutch line back in right? The pedal will go hard if the clutch line is popped out and build pressure because it has no were to go.

If you are keeping the cats, just cut off the muffler and put a side pipe in front of the rear tire. Sounds much better without a muffler IMO.
