The roads here are fairly flat and I am usually in a tail or headwind. Not much crosswind for me. I will average anywhere from 18-23 depending on winds. My speed is always the same...70 mph. Typically I will get around 22 in one direction and 19 in the other for an average of 20.5 or so. I have driven to El Paso and back twice recording around 19 both times. 10-15mph crosswinds both times. Some tanks seem to do better for no apparent reason. All of our fuel is 10% ethanol aside from a 100 or so stations scattered all over Texas in areas that do not fall into the EPA crackdown on Texas smog.I run 93 octane if the temps are over 90 and 89 the rest of the time. The truck just feels peppier with the 93 in the summer. It is very noticeable. the hotter it is the better my mileage. I do notice that my mileage falls like a rock as soon as I get into town. I can get off the freeway after driving 250 miles averaging 21.... only to see it fall to 20.5 just driving 5-6 miles in town.

It's all good. There are quite a few of us who seem to get the advertised mileage. Most of us are in warmer climates. The EB does not appear to like cold weather or winter fuel. My mileage went up about .5-75 with the addition of the intake and exhaust. The ARE lid has been on the truck since day one. I ordered it from a local distributor when the truck was two weeks out. It was 1395.00 out the door with tax and installation. There are cheaper lids out there, I just like the quality of the ARE. I think it likely adds another .5mpg. Some say it does nothing based on Fords video showing how the air flows over their cab and bed with help from the lip on the tailgate. This was with a 5.5' bed. Mine is 6.5. They art testing in a lab as well with just a headwind. The PE in me says crosswinds, wind speed and truck speed will all play a factor in this. I also run Mobil 1 synthetic oil...doubt there is much to gain there, but it is in the crankcase.
