Hi there I am trying to make my own aerodynamic topper similar to yours and I am curious how you did it? I made an aerodynamic deflector for my truck and camper combo that saved a ton of gas. I now want to design a topper to do the same. I put it on youtube under treadreview. I used roofing panels and I may do the same with a low drag topper, but I am also interested in figuring out fiberglass too. Thank you for posting what you have already.

Sorry about the late rsponse. Presently trying to get the attention of an established manufacturer to possibly bring it to market. Got the patent. Still hammering!

    Hello WhiteXL,

My truck is not a true SFE. I just bought some stickers at the dealership. Sorry to mislead you. I put the stickers on my truck because my truck gets better fuel economy than even the real SFE.

The SFE's only came with super crew cab and 5.5 foot bed. Ford knew the shorter bed was better for aerodynamics to begin with. My gear ratio is 3.31 which came with my 2009 XLT space cab with a 6.5 bed which it truly is, so it doesn't have the 3.15 gears.

Thanks for the interest in the aerodynamic lid I built. It does truly get me superior fuel economy.

I like your SFE. I have never seen one in person. My area Ford dealer never got any in stock or on order. They had posters on every wall picturing and bragging up the SFE, but only carried the standard trucks. How does the truck tow with the 3.15 gears?

No thanks. I still dont know why you would want to put a aerodynamic cap on a pickup truck. Why not just get a prius?

Thanks Elrod for letting me know about your freind. Sounds like he is an excellent craftsman and someone to consider in the future. At this time I am awaiting some legislation in Washington which could bvlow the whole market wide open. If thet happens i would very much like to talk to Mr. Morgan

    Thanks again,

    Bondo,

Interesting cap. I read about your trials on the ecomod site. I life in Maryland and know a boatbuilder you may be interested in partnering with you. He builds large boats but business sucks because of the economy. He rebuilt my fiberglass pontoon this summer. He is a true craftsman and doesn't cut corners. Plus he is an honest guy who trests people fairly. I can get you in touch with him if you are interested. He could certainly produce caps from your molds if you want some to sell. Check out his website - do a search for Carman Boats.
