    unfortunately I really don't know of anything too cool directly in that area. if you check out mountevans.com it's only about an hour from Denver, and is the highest paved road in North America. the website is pretty out-of-date but I think it's generally only open from like June-September so if your trip happens to fall between those months, it may be worth checking out.

    hey Jake, in the pictures I'm assuming you're referring to, I was actually in the San Juan Mountains just south of Ouray, CO. it was Road 361 also called Camp Bird Road. if you look at Ouray on google maps, 361 splits off right at the first hairpin on 550 right as you head south of the town. depending on the time of year it's usually gated off after a couple miles when the snow gets to be too deep over the road but you can still get up there a good distance and the views are incredible. Ouray itself is a really cool little city too, one of my favorite vacation spots with some very cool natural hot springs. hope that helps!
