what do you think about rough country lifts? everybody i know talks about them, and i know you have a rancho, so i figured i would get a different perspective on things.

Thanks, my F-150 front-end is the stock Dana 44 TTB
    (Twin Traction Beam)

The Rancho 4" Lift with Long Radius Arms & Dual Front Shocks setup was $2,000.00 (delivered price) ten years ago.

The Lift Kit was installed during a body-off frame rebuild.

Ensure the lift you buy is designed correctly, many lifts are a lot cheaper than Rancho, but sadly the tires will toe in or lean out.

Rancho has a less expensive lift without the long radius arms and dual shocks setup, I think.

looked through you album and i'm in love with your truck! looks good with the lift and bushwacker flares. i also noticed that your truck isn't an I-beam truck, or that i could tell.

how much was your lift, and what could i do to keep my wheels from cambering out too much when i lift it?

That's what I did, I ordered a 87-91 F150 instrument cluster with tachometer off eBay and installed it, Ford already wired it for a tachometer, it's a plug and play type.

The tachometer in the instrument cluster you installed should have worked, but apparently something was wrong with it before you installed the cluster.

I looked on eBay this morning and didn't see one listed w/tach.

    Thanks for the compliment!

    Hey, Nice truck!!!

Maybe you can help me out with some mods I am trying to do on my 87. I noticed you had a tach, did that come stock or did you put in a new cluster. Mine don't have one and I would really like to have one. I pulled one out of a 91 and put it in mine but the tach did not work.

    Rancho 4" suspension lift

    Spring height on-truck
    15.75" tall on driver side
    15.25" tall on passenger side

Truck sits level , unsure why the 1/2" difference?

These measurements are from the bottom edge of the coil spring to the top edge. I measured each side several times to be sure.

They have been installed for 10.5 years and 62K miles.

    Hope this helps!

Would you be able to do me a huge favor and measure how tall your coil springs are under pressure? Mine are sagging and i want to know roughly how much.I got the same susp. lift as you but i bought it used. Thanks

The bumpers were bought 10 years ago from www.smittybilt.com

Now they make the same style for Jeeps only.

Are you referring to the Solenoid problem my 1987 F150 had months ago?

I installed a new Solenoid on the fender along with a new larger
2.0 AWG Positive Battery Cable and my 87 has not had any more problems cranking. (The 4.0 AWG Positive Cable was not corroded and was only 2 years old)
