The best thing to do would be get a connector like those on the large bolts on the fender mounted solenoid and crimp it to your wire. Then hook the connector on with the other wires on the solenoid on the same bolt that has the large cable coming from the positive battery post.

You may have to drill a hole in the firewall unless you can find an existing hole or manage to push the wire through beside another wire. Make sure there is some sort of grommet around the wore so it don't rub the insulation off the wire. If you have to drill a hole through the firewall, be careful where you drill.

Hi there ! Haven't seen you on here in a while. Truck still working good ?
There's always a place to sneak a wire through, but drilling a hole might be the better way to get it right where you want it.
Best thing is to go find a rubber grommet and then drill your hole the right size for the grommet. Like 88xlt said, you don't want any sharp edges around the hole, that can cause a short.
Also put an in line fuse within about 6 - 8" from the battery; that protects the whole length of the wire so you don't have any problems. Installing a stereo or...?

I ended up drilling a 1" hole under the engine harness in passenger side footwell. I used a plastic grommet to protect the wire then ran all my wires and siliconed it on both ends

Message me if you need pics

I ran mine (8ga +/-wires) thru the big grommet under the steering wheel shaft on the firewall. Used a plastic trim removal tool to pry up the grommet-edges enough to sneak the wires thru. Then used Black RTV Silicone around the grommet to seal. A bit of black convolute tubing covers the wire run & secured all to firewall w/ black zip-ties. Add-A-Tap to the batt'y (+) and the (-) to the factory ground above RH wheel well. Be sure you FUSE the connection at battery & again at whatever point you terminate the wire to device you're installing.
