Default Broke turn signal assembly

Okay, so I've got a 2011 F 150 XL with the 5.0, 4wd. A few months back I was having trouble with my turn signal switch assembly. It wouldn't want to work half the time, was wobbly, just plain irritating. So, since I work at AutoZone, I bought a new one and went to replace it myself. Pretty simple procedure, easy for a do it yourselfer. Except for my switch wasn't bad at all. Somehow the plastic piece that the screws hold it to (not on the switch itself, but what the switch is held to) Its broke. So my switch is basically just setting in there and only making connection when I move it just right for what I want it to do. What do I need to fix this? Truck has 225k miles on it, no check engine light, and only thing I've had to do is replace the alternator (which I'm still trying to find one that's not 400 bucks). It's a great truck and I would like to keep it that way. Am I looking at spending a fortune trying to fix it?
