This is how I made the openings to install my seat in new carpeting, worked great.
Have carpet in place
Insert studs in or bolts from underneath cab just enough to feel and mark
Mark x stop stud and leave stud to hold carpet up some from floor
Heat a 1/2" copper coupling until blue
Press over x previously marked
Remove studs and bolt in seat, works for headlight switch, just a larger fitting
