Default Old radiator to new swap

I am about to r&r the radiator in my 96 150
The previous owner had used straight water in the radiator, which after 21 years, has finally rusted a hole in it. My question is, can I get away with just the radiator swap? And can I also get away with draining the radiator only? Or should I pop the freeze plug as well? I changed out the thermostat a while back, and had some rust, but not a lot on the old one so I dont think I need to do that again. Thanks for your help ☺

I would just flush the block and replace radiator. If coolant start looking nasty soon flush again.
